Juan Peña, Ecuador

We’ve named this coffee after its producer, Juan Peña, whom you may recognize from his renowned farm, Hacienda La Papaya, in Ecuador. We’ve been purchasing coffee from Juan for many years and continue to return for his juicy, sweet, full-bodied coffees.

We’re excited to share a coffee from Peña’s newer venture, CafExporto, where he works with two additional farms, Yacuri and Yunguilla. These farms follow the same meticulous approach to farming, processing, and fermentation that has made Peña’s coffees so distinctive.

This coffee comes from Yacuri and is a washed Sidra variety, a coffee believed to have origins in Ethiopia’s heirloom varieties. We love Sidra for its juicy sweetness, vibrant acidity, and expressive fruit character.
